Can the Coos Bay LNG Project be safe?
You decide. The facts are:
The proposed facility is in violation of LNG Industry safety standards. The specifics are on my website.
The US Coast Guard says there are 3 ‘Zones of Concern’ around a fire caused by spilled LNG.
Inside these zones, dangers to the public vary from instant death to serious burns. The outer perimeter of the zones is 2.2 miles from the fire.
The CG says the safety risks to citizens anywhere within the zones are not acceptable.
The exact CG rule is printed on my website.
So please Look at the industry safety standards, the CG rules and consider the fact that it is located inside a tsunami zone, then you decide:
Is it safe enough for you and your family?
Is it safe enough for Coos County?
